Nahuel Cano

Nahuel Cano is a performer and sound experimenter. His performances center on listening as a transformative action. His work focuses on the relationship between ecological collapse, grief, and colonization. He works both with performers and musicians and uses sound, film, storytelling, songs, and poems as his material. 

Cano was born in Patagonia, Argentina, and is based in the Netherlands. In 2020 he graduated from DAS Theater in Amsterdam. In 2022, he was invited by the Province of Utrecht to research the subjects of ecology and Dutch colonial history, working with local communities and institutions. 

From 2010-2017 he was the director of the group “El Cuarto” that played multiple international festivals. He is a founding member of Escena Política, an artistic activist collective from Buenos Aires. Nahuel Cano also acted in film and theater with artists such as Lucrecia Martel, Lotte van den Berg, Diederik van Rooijen, and Alejandro Tantanián.
