TM Live – Body in public space

For years artists have been seeking out public spaces to bring their work face to face with the everyday world. But public space is changing. It is becoming increasingly commercialised, regulated and digitalised. How are artists dealing with these changes in their work? Is it possible to ‘reclaim’ public space, or is it necessary to announce your work, placing it in an artistic context in the process? Many of the artists at SPRING are presenting their work out in the street. We will be discussing the challenges surrounding art in public space with these SPRING artists and with the editors of the professional journal Theatermaker, which is publishing a number of articles on this topic in its April issue.
