Eko Supriyanto’s performance Balabala was a great success at SPRING 2017. Now this Indonesian dance pioneer returns to Utrecht with his latest work Salt, in which he shows himself a charismatic dancer. For this solo performance he found inspiration in his fascination for diving. The underwater world is a world without gravity and a different perspective. Supriyanto compares the liquid rhythm of the underwater world with the earthliness of agricultural Javanese cultivation. The complementary forces of earth and water, tradition and modernization form the basis for this solo. With Salt Supriyanto, once a dancer with Madonna, creates an enchanting performance that defies gravity.
