Ingrid Berger Myhre

Ingrid Berger Myrhe initially trained in modern dance at the Amsterdam School of the Arts. Following her master’s studies she transitioned from a freelance dancer in the Netherlands and abroad to a choreographer. As an associate artist at Dansateliers Rotterdam and with the support of the Dutch Performing Arts Fund’s Nieuwe Makers Regeling (2019-2020), she garnered commissions from institutions like Oslo National Academy of the Arts and Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, and Conny Janssen Danst (Danslokaal 6).

Language and semiotics are pivotal in Ingrid’s innovative approach and artistry. Her work delves into how dance is read and understood, especially within theatre contexts. Her humorous and unpretentious performances have earned acclaim through Aerowaves and toured extensively in Europe. They include the internationally recognized solo “BLANKS” (2017), duet “PANFLUTES AND PAPERWORK” (2019) with Lasse Passage and “IN OTHER WORDS” (2021) which explored language as a tool to compose dance.
