Ezra Veldhuis & Bosse Provoost

Since 2018, Ezra Veldhuis (NL) and Bosse Provoost (BE) have formed an artistic duo operating at the intersection of performance and installation art. In their work, the theater remains central as a site for ‘metaphysical adventure’; a space where the visitor is confronted with the strange and invited to perceive the world in a new way.

Using shifting light, sound fragments, and poetic imagery, they compose ever-changing spaces. In these ‘scenic poems,’ the boundaries between human and non-human figures, and between presence and absence, begin to blur. Their work is built on choreographic principles and draws inspiration from both science and poetry.

Ezra Veldhuis is a visual artist and light designer. She conducts research at KASK Ghent on light as an autonomous material. In 2022, she won both the professional jury and audience awards at the Prix Fintro (Theatre & Dance). Bosse Provoost is a performance artist and director. He previously won the KBC Young Theatre Prize at Theater Aan Zee and was an artist-in-residence at Toneelhuis from 2017 to 2022.

Together, they have created acclaimed productions such as Matisklo, SUN-SET, and Indoor Weather. Their work is showcased at leading venues and festivals both at home and abroad.
