SPAfrica explores how closely racism is linked to capitalism. In collaboration with South African/Swiss performer Ntando Cele and Utrecht-based musician and producer Frank Wienk, he combines theater, music and video.
SPAfrica is, like previous productions by Studio Julian Hetzel, a co-production with SPRING. Since our collaboration with Julian Hetzel in 2014, our festival programmed several of his confrontational and high-profile productions. In May 2022 There Will Be Light could be seen on stage, in which the equivalent of a basic income was given to one person.
