In her work, the Austrian choreographer and dancer Doris Uhlich focuses on atypical bodies in the performing arts. Too tall and slightly bigger than the standard androgynous dancers she was always confronted with, this choreographer saw no option than to deliberately show other body types on stage. Uhlich works with dancers with a disability or dances herself sweaty, with sticking hair, in her performances. The recognizable, universally human imperfection of bodies can also be seen in Fat Dance, a dance video she made while in quarantine.
