Fang Yun Lo | Polymer DMT

A house, empty, abandoned, but full of traces of former life: discarded old shoppings on the tables, family pictures on the walls, dusty clothes, shoes and glasses in the cupboards. What has happened?

The Taiwanese choreographer Fang Yun Lo takes us on a fascina ting journey to her family home and history. Incorporating influences from urban dance, dancer Chih Wen Chung moves through an emotive, mazelike installation of miniature model rooms and shifting video images. Personal memories from a youth in 1980s Taiwan in the merge with the existential questions of our times: what is home? How does personal identity shape itself from family history? How does a young generation deal with inherited conflicts that the previous generation has not been able to resolve?
