A quest to define the relationship between man and machine, that is how much of the work by theatre maker and visual artist Kris Verdonck may be described. Is our growing dependency on technology making us give up our free will, little by little? IN shows a performer standing still inside a water-filled display cabinet. He enters a trance-like state. As a near-cyborg the performer embodies the transition from man to machine – or is it the other way around? Several microphones amplify the sound of breathing and wavy movement.
