Host
alaa minawi (Beirut, 1982) is a Dutch-Lebanese-Palestinian artist based between Amsterdam and Beirut. His work spans performing arts and installations, exploring themes of belonging, presence and absence, Arab futurism, war, trauma, and healing. alaa minawi holds a BA in Communication Arts from the Lebanese American University (2008) and an MA in Fine Arts from HKU Utrecht (2018). He teaches at AHK (Amsterdam) and HKU (Utrecht) and is the founder and program director of the Beirut Summer School for Theater & Performance.
