Cameroonian dancer-choreographer Zora Snake made quite an impression at last year’s SPRING with his cross-border, incisive performance Transfrontalier. This year he would have returned to Utrecht with his latest work Le Départ. For this performance he moved from public space back to the black box, but as always this work was also inspired by politics and a series of political figures in Africa. The video work that Zora Snake makes for SPRING on Screen continues on this topic. He combines his strong global political commitment and criticism of the local African rulers with powerful contemporary and urban dance. And he adapts it to these corona times.
