Ainhoa Hernández Escudero will give an insight into her research for (DON’T) LOOK ME IN THE EYES. This dance performance is filtering and researching the Medusa Myth through critical thinking, pop culture and sci-fi aesthetics in search of its meaning in today’s world. Making use of feminist and queer literature dealing with mythology and symbolism, identity, cultural transformation and prophetic visions, Ainhoa Hernández tackles the monstrous and the relationships between bodies and technology, aiming to reflect on the representations of women and queer characters in the foundational narratives of Western culture. During the Reading Group, we will read some excerpts of texts together that inspired her work. As a preparation before seeing the performance or as a way to dive deeper into what you have experienced, the Reading Group is open to everyone.
The Reading Groups have room for a maximum of 25 people.
