Khadija El Kharraz Alami

Khadija El Kharraz Alami is a Brussels-based performance artist originally from Amsterdam. She graduated from the HKU in Utrecht in 2014. In her work, she explores identity, power and collective experiences, often by combining storytelling, research and live encounters.

Her solo piece NOW I AM MEDEA won awards at Theater Aan Zee (2018) and went on an international tour. At Kaaitheater Brussels, she created RE-CLAIMING SPACE, in which she invited unknown artists to collaborate on live performances. As a resident artist at De Singel, she developed THE WAVES (2022) and ENSEMBLE PIECE (2023). This evolved into a tour of major theatres in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Inspired by figures such as Angela Davis, Khadija gives a voice to marginalised communities in her work and explores new ways of transforming research, experimentation and craftsmanship into compelling performances.
