Khadija El Kharraz Alami

Brussels-based performance artist Khadija El Kharraz Alami graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) in 2014. Her socially engaged practice combines storytelling, research, and live artistic encounters, exploring identity, agency, and collective experience. Early works include her solo De Sterkste (nominated at It’s Festival) and Vandaag een witte Man (2015), revived in 2026 at Het Nationale Theater. Her solo NOW I AM MEDEA won awards at Theater Aan Zee (2018) and toured internationally. At Kaaitheater Brussels, she created RE-CLAIMING SPACE, inviting unfamiliar artists on stage to co-create live performances, now touring across major venues. As associate artist at De Singel (2021), she developed THE WAVES (2022) and ENSEMBLE PIECE (2023). Drawing inspiration from Angela Davis, Khadija’s work envisions alternative futures, foregrounds marginalized voices, and transforms research, experimentation, and craft into immersive, socially engaged performance art that illuminates humanity’s search for identity and collective imagination.
