Eddie Hara, born (1957) in Salatiga, Indonesia, is an Indonesian Artist currently living and working in Basel (CH). He studied at the Indonesian Institute of Arts, Yogyakarta (IND) and at the Akademie Voor Beeldende Kunst Enschede (NL). He is among the Indonesian contemporary artists a prominent voice, and he, in his own ways, has succeeded in discovering a visualization type that eventually led to the birth of a “new genre“ by including the wildness and innocence of children’s drawing, or street art in his works. With this, Eddie’s works keep dealing with various themes and the sub-culture mindset. Lately, his works have been showing more similarities with street murals, seemingly made by doodling and involving application of colors.
