Beppie Blankert

Beppie Blankert (1949) began her career as a dancer before quickly moving into choreography. She worked with various dance companies in the Netherlands, including the Noord Nederlandse Dansgroep, Mezzing, and Dansproduktie, and internationally with Living Movement in Copenhagen, Diversions Dance Company in Wales, and Several Dancers Core in Atlanta. In 1987, she founded her own company, Dansers Studio, now Beppie Blankert Dansconcerten, in Amsterdam. In 1992, she received the VSCD Prize for Production and Choreography. Blankert is known for her layered works, combining dance, text, and live music, often with specially composed scores. Her inspiration comes from literature and the visual arts. Her company has toured internationally, performing at leading festivals and theaters. In addition to her work as a creator, Blankert has contributed as a teacher and board member of several foundations.
