Emma van den Elshout & Just van Bommel

Emma van den Elshout (she/her) and Just van Bommel (he/she/they) met at the Maastricht Theatre Academy, where they were studying directing and performance. Previously, they collaborated on Het Spektakeltje with Frascati Productions, Het Showtje, which was selected for Via Rudolphi’s Het Debuut, and Het Circusje with Likeminds for the Parade Theater Festival and Festival Boulevard. Since 2025, they have been affiliated with Via Zuid as a creative duo. Last summer, they created a first version of TRANS- for the Noorderzon Festival in Groningen.

Emma van den Elshout graduated as a director in 2022 and has created productions for, among others, Winterkaravaan, Limburg Festival and Feikeshuis. She has also worked as an assistant director for, amongst others, Mart van Berckel and Silke van Kamp. She served as final director for TG Stel and is currently working on a research project at the Verkadefabriek. She is co-founder and artistic coordinator of ENTER Festival – a national graduation festival for emerging theatre practitioners.

Just van Bommel graduated in 2022 as a Performer and has since worked primarily as a theatre maker and performer. They create work that draws on everyday occurrences, using these as a starting point to explore broader issues and themes. Since 2022, they have also been affiliated with Frascati Producties, where they previously created A divine aversion to DYING (in collaboration with Diane Mahín) and DEAR FRAIL MALE, which was nominated for the BNG Theatre Prize.
