Overal Iemand Altijd

Overal Iemand Altijd by Wouter van Veldhoven & Guiot Duermeijer exposes how the pressure imposed on us can be overwhelming. In the performance, a young woman invites the audience to experience how she deals with stimuli and has to conform to societal norms that are not suitablefor her. It shows how people struggle to filter and process the input from the world and how the woman tries to keep afloat in a storm of obligations and her own expectations.

In this durational performance, a young actress takes us into the mind of a neurodiverse young woman who struggles with contact and is overwhelmed by both internal and external stimuli. In the live performance, the character, trapped in her own mind, responds to the stimuli from her own head, from her memories, and from her immediate environment.

Overal Iemand Altijd  is located in the loft of Utrecht Central Station and is experienced with headphones. The audience buys a ticket for a single 40-minute loop of the performance, but you are welcome to stay as long as they want

Guiot Duermeijer and Wouter van Veldhoven return to SPRING, where they previously presented their collaboration Memory Lapse, a fully automated theatrical installation with tape recorders, in Autumn 2022. This fully automated theatrical installation with tape recorders and text gave insight into the fragility of the human mind.
