Viktor Szeri

Viktor Szeri (1993) is an independent performer and choreographer based in Budapest. In his multidisciplinary works, he blends different performing arts and visual elements. Motivated by a desire to express moods or feelings, Szeri uses spontaneous and improvisational processes. Dance is central to his work, serving as a language through which the imperfect, transient human body can escape social norms. His raw performances blur the boundaries between stage and audience, drawing the viewer into intimate spaces where they play an active role.

In 2018, he co-founded the artist collective Hollow with Tamás Páll and Gyula Muskovics, creating immersive performances combining choreography, dance, poetry, new media, and role-play. These works explore “world prototypes” that question and reshape dominant realities.

Szeri holds a BA in Choreography from the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy and an MA in Media Design from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. He has received multiple scholarships and residencies and presented works across Europe. Since 2020, he has been the organiser of the Under500 interdisciplinary performing arts festival.
