Su WenChi

Su Wenchi is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of choreography, dance, and new media arts. In 2005, she founded YILAB in Taiwan, an experimental collective that integrates technology with the performing arts. Through both her solo work and YILAB, she has become a key figure in Taiwan’s contemporary art scene, particularly in technology-integrated performance.

Her innovative approach has earned her several prestigious awards, including the Jury’s Special Award at the 9th Taishin Arts Award and the Alternative Design Gold Award at the 2017 World Stage Design Award. She has completed artistic residencies at CERN, EMPAC, and Taiwan’s National Theater & Concert Hall.

Recent highlights include her collaboration with LA PRAIRIE at Art Basel Miami Beach 2021, a VR film selection at Festival International du Film d’Animation d’Annecy 2022, and choreographing STILL LIFE for Cloud Gate Dance Theater’s Spring Riot 2024. Her VR film Fluid, inspired by Chinese calligraphy and dance, won VR Gold Winner at the 2024 MUSE Creative Awards.
