Basel Zaraa

Basel Zaraa is a UK-based Palestinian artist whose work uses sensory experiences to bring audiences closer to the realities of exile and war. Through his art, he confronts, expresses, and seeks to understand the trauma endured by his community. His current project, Dear Laila, won the ZKB Audience Award 2023 At the Zürcher Theater Spektakel. Previously, he collaborated with Lebanese artist Tania El Khoury on As Far As My Fingertips Take Me, which received the Bessie Award for Outstanding Production in 2019 in New York. His work has been presented at over 50 venues and festivals across five continents.
