Accessibility

The Netherlands has 2.3 million people with a (moderate) impairement or disability. SPRING strives to be accessible, for everyone. That is why SPRING also focuses on the accessibility of the festival for that group of people.

Part of the SPRING program is suitable for people with a physical, auditory, visual and cognitive impairement. On the performance page, at the bottom of the page under the heading 'accessibility', icons indicate whether the performance is accessible to an audience with a physical disability, hearing impairment and/or visual impairment. Do you have a cognitive impairment? Then we are happy to give you tailor-made advice. Send your question/wish to toegankelijkheid@springutrecht.nl.

What do we actually mean?

We use a number of icons to divide our performances into categories. By this we mean the following.

Auditory impairment. This performance is suitable for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Little or no spoken language is used in the performance, there is an induction loop / infrared system or there are surtitles available. In many cases, movement plays an important role. Often performances in which music plays an important role are not suitable for people with an auditory disability, at those performances we only mention 'language no problem'.

Visual impairment. This performance is suitable for people who are blind or partially sighted. Language and/or music predominate here.

Physical disability. This performance is wheelchair accessible. You can reserve a wheelchair place by sending an email to kassa@springutrecht.nl

In addition, we will separately state the spoken language with the performances, whether surtitles are used and whether there are further details such as the use of stroboscopes or loud sound.
