Marte Boneschansker, who graduated as an actor from the ATKA in Amsterdam in 2013, makes one-on-one experiential theater based on documentary material. Armed with a microphone and in permanent collaboration with scenographer Geartsje van der Zee, she develops intimate, physical audio works that hover between theater and installation. Between 2018 and 2020 Marte ran a development trajectory within Het Huis in Utrecht within the framework of the Subsidy for New Makers of the Fonds Podiumkunsten. For her intimate audio performance BLOOS she was nominated for the BNG Bank Theatre Prize 2019.
The highly-anticipated follow-up to BLOOS, titled BLOOS de mannen, will also premiere during the SPRING Festival this year. Marte had conversations with men between 10 and 100 years old about intimacy, sensuality and desire. Lying in a single person cocoon which moves, turns and shakes you will listen to their exciting stories.
In this Masterclass, go ‘into the wild’ with Marte to record and edit a story surrounding an overall theme that is close to your heart, which you will choose and discuss. Experience the art of audio storytelling and go in depth with a small group to create a meaningful and lasting artwork all your own.
