SPRING Academy presents a Masterclass by two interdisciplinary, outspoken and innovative artists: Julian Hetzel and Ho Tzu Nyen. And we are calling all interdisciplinary artists and dramaturgs to join us!
During this masterclass you'll get your hands dirty while creating performative images that make impact. Guided by Julian Hetzel and Ho Tzu Nyen, you'll learm to trust your instincts and develop your raw ideas into coherent narratives. You will do so following Hetzel's working method of "jamming" - a playful experimentation with different elements of theatre such as performance, music and visual art.
Professional provocateur Julian Hetzel is known for creating immersive experiences, that shift the balance between 'art' and 'real', as well as the balance between 'performer' and 'spectator'. His performances create a long-lasting impact on its viewers. Ho Tzu Nyen's work, most often video and installations, is characterized by an abundance of historical, musical and art references, unraveling his own culture and histories, as well as pointing to our own personal unknowns. In doing so, he creates work that is both personal as well as speaks to the viewer on a personal level. Because of travel restrictions, Ho Tzu Nyen will be present digitally.
